Position Purpose: The main focus of the role is to support the cash related accounting processes for Medicaid Health Plans along with maintaining accurate financial records, prepare monthly financial statements and participate in special projects. Key Details: Applicants for this role have the flexibility to work remotely from home anywhere within the continental United States. However, due to the needs of the business, St. Louis, MO is highly preferred . In this Accountant I role, you will: Account for cash through cash deposits, cash applications, collection and cash forecasting Process payment and void requests Respond to inquiries about payments Assist with preparing financial reports and supporting month-end close processes Evaluate variances, account balances, etc. Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards Highly preferred: Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, related field or equivalent experience 0-2 years' experience in accounting, preferably in health care industry Pay Range: $23.23 - $39.61 per hour At Centene, we connect people to the care they need to live healthier lives — and the work you do here makes that impact real every day.
