About the Opportunity: BTSE is seeking a Junior Compliance Operations Analyst to drive the execution of day-to-day compliance operations and safeguard the platform against financial crime risks across the South Asia region. In this role, you will act as a key first-line defense for BTSE Bhutan, managing high-volume onboarding queues, executing L1 Customer Due Diligence (CDD/EDD) reviews, and conducting initial alert triage. Working in close collaboration with the Compliance Team, you will maintain seamless operations using established SOPs and advanced tooling to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence across our growing regional markets.
Responsibilities: Compliance Operations Perform L1 Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews on individual and corporate clients of BTSE Bhutan. Manage and process the daily high-volume onboarding queue, reviewing and validating KYC/KYB documentation during initial sign-ups and periodic reviews of clients from licensed jurisdictions. Compile comprehensive EDD evidence packages and conduct periodic reviews of higher-risk clients, ensuring documentation and risk profiles remain up to date. Maintain clear, defensible, and accurate documentation of all compliance reviews and decisions in line with internal procedures. Manage and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) from internal teams, audit partners, and external stakeholders. Financial Crime Monitoring Review and disposition transaction monitoring alerts in accordance with internal risk thresholds. Review and disposition name screening alerts and escalate potential matches where required. Monitor, assess, and escalate suspicious or unusual activity for further investigation. Support investigations related to suspicious activity where required. Operational Support & Process Alignment Assist in maintaining operational compliance procedures, queue management, and case workflows within current L1/L2 split frameworks. Support regulatory inquiries, local compliance audits, and internal compliance reviews as required. Provide operational feedback on alert trends, false positive rates, and potential control improvements. Align day-to-day operations with UTC+6 timezone coverage to efficiently serve target markets across the South Asia region. Requirements: Bhutanese national residing in Bhutan. 2 - 4 years of experience in AML / Compliance Operations within digital asset platforms, fintech/payments, or traditional financial institutions. Proven experience performing KYC/KYB reviews, transaction monitoring alert disposition, and name screening investigations. Ability to execute operational compliance tasks independently and escalate complex cases appropriately. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Demonstrated capability to maintain clear, audit-ready, and defensible documentation for compliance decisions and investigations. Nice To Haves: Experience in digital asset / crypto compliance environments. Exposure to blockchain analytics tools (e.g., Chainalysis, TRM, Elliptic). Foundational data capability, such as working with structured datasets, basic SQL querying, or comfort analyzing transaction patterns and monitoring outputs.
