In the CEE region, we’re a team of nearly 1,000 experts delivering modern applications, data platforms, and AI solutions for clients such as Millennium, ING, Play, Edenred, Arabian Drilling, FedEx, Leroy Merlin, Truecaller, Volotea, Schmitz Cargobull, and many, many more. We are looking for a freelance Senior Java Developer for an initial 1-month engagement, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance. You will be: developing and validating Java-based integration solutions, reproducing and troubleshooting issues with the ClickHouse JDBC connector, debugging and fixing Kerberos/GSS authentication for Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server, migrating the connector from JDBC v1 to JDBC v2, testing and verifying functionality across Windows, VPN and Tableau environments, packaging and signing connector releases for deployment, collaborating with technical stakeholders to resolve complex integration challenges. Your profile: extensive experience with Java development and integration projects, practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery, strong knowledge of JDBC driver development and debugging, hands-on experience with Kerberos/GSS authentication, experience integrating Java applications with Tableau or similar BI platforms, solid understanding of ClickHouse or other analytical databases, experience working with legacy code and migrating existing solutions, familiarity with Windows-based development environments and VPN access, experience with packaging, signing and releasing Java applications, strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, ability to work independently and deliver technical solutions with minimal supervision, good communication skills and fluent technical English (at least B2 level). Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required. Nice to have: experience applying GenAI in a more structured way within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations embedded into daily work. interest in and familiarity with emerging AI-driven practices (e.g. agent-based workflows, automation patterns, AI-augmented development), with a willingness to explore and experiment beyond standard approaches.
