The Subscriptions Mission is shaping the future of how millions of people discover, purchase, and experience Spotify Premium. We build the platforms and tools that power Spotify's global subscription business, enabling new offers, pricing strategies, and commerce experiences that help our business move quickly while delivering exceptional experiences for listeners. Join the Monaco squad, where we create the internal products that enable Spotify teams to launch, configure, and manage Premium offers with confidence. From subscriptions and prepaid products to pricing updates and promotional campaigns, our tools support business-critical operations through intuitive experiences, trusted workflows, and reliable platform services. As a Senior Web Engineer, you'll develop end-to-end solutions spanning modern web applications. Working closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and business partners, you'll help create the tools that enable Spotify's global subscription business to innovate safely, efficiently, and at scale.
What You'll Do Build end-to-end features across modern web applications that support Spotify's global subscription business. Create intuitive internal products that enable business teams to launch, configure, and manage Premium offers through secure, guided workflows. Develop GraphQL and gRPC APIs that connect frontend applications with distributed platform services. Design efficient database schemas, implement data migrations, and optimize application performance using PostgreSQL. Build secure, reliable, and auditable systems that support business-critical financial operations and SOX-compliant approval workflows. Collaborate with engineers across the Subscriptions Mission to evolve shared platform capabilities, improve developer experience, and increase platform reliability. Write maintainable, well-tested code while contributing to technical design, architecture discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement. Participate in an on-call rotation to help maintain the reliability and availability of services powering Spotify Premium. Who You Are You have experience building and delivering production software across on the front end. You have built modern web applications using TypeScript, React, and Next.js. You have experience designing or consuming GraphQL APIs and enjoy building schema-driven applications. You have worked with gRPC services and Protocol Buffers, or you're excited to deepen your expertise in distributed systems. You have hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database, including schema design, migrations, and query optimization. You care about writing reliable, maintainable, and well-tested software that delivers long-term value. You enjoy partnering with engineers, designers, product managers, and business stakeholders to solve complex problems and deliver meaningful outcomes. You have a passion for simplifying complex workflows and creating intuitive experiences for internal users. Experience with tools such as jOOQ, Flyway, Apollo GraphQL, DataLoader, Styled Components, Storybook, TanStack Query, Tailwind CSS, Material UI, or similar technologies will help you ramp up quickly. Experience building commerce platforms, subscription products, pricing systems, distributed systems, or large-scale platform modernization initiatives is beneficial. Where You'll Be We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! For this role, you can be within the EMEA region as long as we have a work location. This team operates within the Central European and GMT time zones for collaboration. Spotify is an equal opportunity employer. You are welcome at Spotify for who you are, no matter where you come from, what you look like, or what’s playing in your headphones. Our platform is for everyone, and so is our workplace. The more voices we have represented and amplified in our business, the more we will all thrive, contribute, and be forward-thinking! So bring us your personal experience, your perspectives, and your background. It’s in our differences that we will find the power to keep revolutionizing the way the world listens.
At Spotify, we are passionate about inclusivity and making sure our entire recruitment process is accessible to everyone. We have ways to request reasonable accommodations during the interview process and help assist in what you need. If you need accommodations at any stage of the application or interview process, please let us know - we’re here to support you in any way we can.
Staying safe while you apply

- Be cautious of an offer made with no real interview, or pressure to decide quickly or share financial details early.
