Systems Engineer Hardware and Deployment (Associate and Expert)

Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS), Space Weapons and Information Systems is seeking GSCCE Systems Engineers (Associate and Expert) to support the Wideband Global Satellite (WGS) Ground Satellite Configuration & Control Element (GSCCE) Modernization effort in Colorado Springs, CO. This role supports current system upgrades for upcoming WGS satellite launches and future development initiatives, with responsibility spanning the full product lifecycle from concept and development through maintenance and customer support. The selected candidate will operate in a fast-paced, modified-agile environment, contributing to product documentation development and broader systems engineering activities, including system design, integration, sustainment, and support of technical deliverables such as SOWs and test procedures. The ideal candidate will bring strong systems engineering, problem-solving, technical, and communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in team-based environments and contribute to the success of a complex, mission-critical program.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Performance System Design analysis of Ground Infrastructure HW Baseline(s)
  • Safely installing, integration, and deploying hardware in racks, hardware racks, and
  • Assisting in Analysis of Performance Requirements, Performance Allocations to Segments, Subsystems.
  • Help stablish a requirements baseline including analysis, derivation, allocation, and traceability of requirements and interfaces, including external systems and organizations
  • Requirements and Thread management through the use of System Mission Threads
  • Cabling expertise and ensuring a rack deployment is organized,
  • Experience ordering parts and deploying those parts
  • Establish and support system level management and interfaces including racks, cables, lighting, power, grounding, and general installation skills
  • Develop and manage risk and opportunity baselines

Ability to Obtain U.S. Top Secret/SCI – Interim Pre-Start & Final Post Start

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to Obtain U.S. Top Secret/SCI – Interim Pre-Start & Final Post Start
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 2+ years of experience implementing/maintaining requirements and problem solving including deployment and hardware planning, integration, deployment, and sustainment
  • 2+ years of computer programming or knowledge of computer development
  • 2+ years or more of experience in Engineering Discipline

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active Top Secret/SCI or higher
  • Level 3: 5+ years of experience implementing/maintaining requirements and problem solving including deployment and hardware planning, integration, deployment, and sustainment
  • Experience in systems design, software development, and integration
  • Network infrastructure development experience
  • SATCOM domain experience
  • Experience with test equipment and HW/SW automated test verification
  • Ability to analyze customer requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications
  • Strong ability to develop system architectures and designs and solve complex technical problems
  • Strong communication and documentation skills; for lead roles, ability to track project progress and ensure delivery on time and within budget

Associate, Level 2: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Expert, Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. Associate Level 2: $91,800 - $124,200

Expert Level 3: $112,200 - $151,80051,800
