How this page is built: a role is listed when its title names an entry-level, graduate, junior, intern, internship, trainee or apprentice role (whole words only), or when the employer states an entry-level or internship level or employment type. Titles that also say senior, lead or manager are left out.
Resume format for freshers
Without much work history, lead with what you have studied and built. Keep it to one page, in one column, with standard headings.
- Contact details and a two-line summary. Name the kind of role you are aiming for and the strongest thing you bring to it.
- Education first. Degree or qualification, institution and dates, then relevant modules or a final project. Add grades only if you choose to.
- Projects, internships and placements. For each: what you did, the tools you used, and a link if the work is public.
- Skills. Only tools and methods you have actually used, grouped plainly. No self-ratings.
- Activities and volunteering. Roles that show responsibility, with what you did rather than just the title.
