Spot a fake job offer: a checklist

If an offer shows any of these signs, stop before you pay, share a code or sign anything. Tick each one you see.

Tick each sign you see
  • The US FTC: “Honest employers … will never ask you to pay to get a job.”

  • The FTC says no honest potential employer will do this.

  • The FTC says such an offer is almost certainly a scam.

  • The FTC: “Scammers want you to act before you have time to think.”

  • The FTC lists these as payment methods scammers ask for.

  • No genuine hiring process needs them. ROLIVA never asks for your password or a one-time login code.

  • A role that never involves a real interview is a warning sign.

  • Check the employer’s own careers page to see whether the role exists.
