UK and Australian employers ask for a CV, on A4, with local headings and spelling. Pick the template for the country you are applying to, then use the notes below to adapt it, especially if your current CV follows an Indian or US format.
One to two pages; one is usually enough for a graduate
Often two to three pages for experienced applicants
One page early in a career, two for a long one

Two referees, or “Referees available on request”

Right to work
A short line if you need, or already hold, permission to work
Citizenship, permanent residency or visa and its conditions
Usually answered in the application form
Spelling
UK English (organisation, programme)
Australian English (organisation, licence)
US English (organization, program)
These are common conventions, not rules. When a job advert or an application form asks for something different, follow the employer. Government roles in Australia may also ask for a separate selection-criteria statement.
Applying from India? Change these first
Take out the Indian-format extras
A photo, date of birth, father’s name, marital status, religion, a full postal address and a signed “I hereby declare” paragraph are not expected on a UK or Australian CV. A city and country are enough for your location.
Write your grades as they are
Give your CGPA with its scale (for example “CGPA [8.1]/10”) or your percentage. Do not convert it into a UK degree class or an Australian grade yourself; the employer or a recognised assessment body does that.
Name your university fully
Write the full name of the college and the university that awarded the degree. Abbreviations that are familiar in India may not be to a recruiter in London or Sydney.
Be exact about where you can work
If you do not yet hold a visa, say what you would need, for example “Will require sponsorship to work in the UK”. Never imply a status you do not have; employers check.
Use local formats for contact details
Add your country code to your phone number (+91 …) and state your time zone if you are interviewing from India.
Match the local spelling and words
Write “organisation” and “programme” (UK) or “organisation” and “licence” (Australia), and call the document a CV.
Your own CV on A4, from facts you confirm
ROLIVA’s Resume Studio builds a CV for a specific role from the experience you have reviewed and confirmed, and nothing else. Choose A4 or US Letter for the DOCX and PDF; A4 is preselected when your profile country uses it.
