About the Internship

A Larson Gross internship is an opportunity to experience what a career in public accounting is really like while learning alongside professionals who want to see you succeed.

As a Tax Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience in tax compliance, research, and client service while developing the foundational skills needed for a career in tax and public accounting. You'll work alongside experienced tax professionals, contribute to meaningful work, participate in training and professional development, and build relationships throughout the firm.

We don't expect you to arrive knowing everything. We are looking for students who are curious, willing to ask questions, open to feedback, and excited to learn.

What You'll Experience

During your internship, you may have the opportunity to:

Assist with federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.

Organize financial information and use tax software to support tax preparation.

Prepare basic workpapers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

Research tax laws, credits, deductions, and regulatory changes.

Learn how tax professionals identify opportunities and provide value to clients.

Work alongside associates, senior associates, managers, and other professionals.

Ask questions, receive feedback, and develop your technical and professional skills.

Participate in training, networking, and other professional development opportunities.

Build experience using technology, automation, AI, and other tools that are changing how accounting professionals work.

What Will Help You Succeed

We're looking for students who bring:

Curiosity and a genuine willingness to learn.

Strong attention to detail.

Clear communication and an ability to collaborate with others.

Organization and time-management skills.

An analytical and problem-solving mindset.

Adaptability and a willingness to take on new challenges.

An interest in technology and how tools such as AI, automation, and data analytics are being used within the accounting profession.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Interest in a career in tax or public accounting.

Intention to pursue CPA licensure preferred.

Strong academic performance.

Previous accounting or internship experience is a plus, but not required.

Most importantly, we're looking for students who are eager to learn, contribute, and explore where a career in accounting could take them.
