Associate Sr. Mechanical Engineer

oUtilize engineering tools (FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, GD&T, Tolerance Stack Analysis & DFM/DFA) to ensure that requirement risks are evaluated and mitigated early in the design process.

oEnsure designs meet system requirements through proper verification methods.

oLearns established engineering processes (ECN, BOM, RFQ, etc.), standards, methods, and procedures needed to accomplish assigned tasks within discipline.

oResponsibilities could include technical leadership of cross-functional teams, leading design reviews and supplier reviews, developing technical documentation, product change management, and/or process development/enhancement.

oProvide day-to-day direction and coordination with other employees. Ability to quickly build proof-of-concept solutions that are forward-looking to how they could be implemented on a larger scale.

oSelf-motivated mindset with strong engineering project management skills.

oAbility to communicate well verbally and in writing, with various team members in roles that are both technical and non-technical, particularly to give direction to other team members or present business value of various initiatives to leadership.

oAbility to clearly present technical information to other groups within Engineering.

oAbility to collaborate and work in a team environment.

oAbility to relate to others resourcefully and with flexibility.

oAbility to solve problems and work with others to resolve problems.

oExperience in product design from concept to production and have experience utilizing cross functional processes such as engineering change control.

oExperience in supplier coordination and communication of design inputs

oExperience with manufacturing processes such as die casting, investment casting, powdered metal, stampings, injection molded plastics, machining, LPM, and rapid prototyping is a plus.

oUsually able to sort out the key issues versus the peripheral issues. Has a basic understanding of the assumptions being made in an approximation. Able to generate several alternative solutions and evaluate their feasibility.

oDevelop required design documentation, 3D models/drawings, and instructions for manufacturing and product test requirements. Experience with Creo is a plus.

Required Education and/or Experience:

o Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

o 4-7 years of relevant experience
