This is a rare chance to lead a young, talented software team into its next chapter — and to help define the open standard for intralogistics orchestration. If you lead high-performing teams, think in platforms and orchestration, and want real impact on KION’s journey to the Supply Chain Solutions company, this is your role. Come and build it with us.

We offer:

The opportunity

KION is becoming the Supply Chain Solutions company, and software is how we get there. The future of intralogistics is an intelligent orchestration layer that connects fleets, resources and operations end to end — open, hardware-agnostic, and built to become a genuine industry standard. What drives us is impact and customer-centricity: software that measurably changes how customers run their operations, built by staying close to their needs at every step.

Barcelona is where that software future is engineered. Our Hub is young and software-focused — organised in SAFe, established around two and a half years ago, and now ready for its next step. We are looking for a Digital Hub Director to lead a high-performing software team and, from Barcelona, help shape the broad software strategy: an intelligent orchestration system spanning hybrid-fleet automation, end-to-end orchestration of intralogistics resources, an AI engine for continuous optimization and one unified user experience — built on common standards, a common platform and common infrastructure.

The mandate

Two things, done exceptionally. Build and lead a software team that delivers with pace, quality and ownership — and turn KION’s orchestration vision into shipped capability and real business outcomes. This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to leave a mark on where the intralogistics industry goes next.

What you will drive

A high-performing delivery team — build a team known for pace, quality and ownership; agile and SAFe at their best, with teams that commit, challenge the plan and own their outcomes.

Software strategy & intelligent orchestration — contribute to KION’s orchestration platform across hybrid fleets, 360° orchestration, the AI engine and a unified user experience — shaping what is possible, not just delivering tickets.

One stack, consolidated — drive common standards, a common platform and common infrastructure; break silos and replace fragmentation with a coherent, reusable software foundation.

Business impact — make our orchestration platform the standard customers demand and grow the software business; connect every engineering effort to customer value, market position and revenue.

Barcelona’s strategic weight — give the Hub a credible, respected voice in KION’s software direction, turning a strong delivery site into a place that helps set the agenda.

Agile delivery leadership — lead through Domain Leads and Co-Leads; relentlessly improve flow of value, engineering excellence and accountability so the team keeps

Tasks and Qualifications:

Who you are

A high-performance software leader who thinks like a strategist — ambitious, fast, and driven by impact. You attract people with the same attitude and you lift the teams around you.

  • Proven software delivery leadership — you have built and led teams that ship; you set a high bar on pace and quality, and people rise to it.
  • Agile & software delivery expert — deeply fluent in SAFe, agile and team topologies; obsessed with flow of value, predictability and engineering excellence.
  • Software strategist — you see how platforms, orchestration and standards convert into customer adoption, market leadership and growth.
  • Ambitious & impact-driven — you want to shape an industry, not just run a site; you bring energy, edge and accountability.
  • Commercially sharp — you connect software to customer value and to the business, and you make the case in terms leaders and customers care about.
  • Intralogistics / material handling background (a plus) — experience in or familiarity with intralogistics, material handling or related industrial domains is desirable.
