About Noon
We are on a mission to reinvent how designers work in the AI era. We’re backed by top investors including First Round, Chemistry, Homebrew, Scribble and senior leaders from OpenAI, Meta, Google, Ramp, Stripe and more. We’re building the next-generation AI design tool for product teams.
About the Role
We are hiring a Frontend Systems Architect to serve as the technical anchor for our frontend organization. In this role, you will be the primary driver of our product's technical excellence, solving complex problems like maintaining high performance on canvases with thousands of AI-generated nodes and architecting real-time collaborative systems.
This is a high-leverage, hands-on role. You will balance deep-work coding and day-to-day execution with long-term technical direction and mentoring.
What You’ll Do
Own module boundaries, state/data flow, rendering strategy, and extensibility.
Drive the frontend roadmap through RFCs and architecture reviews, balancing speed-to-market with long-term maintainability.
Own frontend performance across large documents, long sessions, and memory usage.
Set the bar for testing, CI quality gates, observability, and release reliability to ensure a "zero-regression" culture.
Partner closely with Design, Product, and Backend teams on key tradeoffs, API design, and distributed systems.
Mentor engineers and raise the frontend engineering craft across the organization through code reviews and technical workshops.
Must-Have Requirements
6–10 years of professional experience building large-scale web applications.
2–4 years in a Lead or Staff capacity, owning frontend architecture and technical strategy.
Deep Technical Expertise: Mastery of React and TypeScript for complex, high-performance UIs.
Complex UI Experience: Proven track record building large editors or complex UI systems (canvas, node-based editors, multi-pane layouts, or timelines).
State Architecture Mastery: Deep experience with modern state management (e.g., Zustand, Recoil, Jotai, Redux) and reactive programming.
Performance Optimization: Proven ability to optimize web applications under real-world conditions (memory management, rendering bottlenecks).
Benefits
Salary: $250,000-$300,000 base salary
Equity: Meaningful stock options
Health Insurance: Best-in-class coverage for the employee and their entire family
Location: San Francisco HQ
