As Head of Engineering, Customer & Digital, you’ll provide strategic technology leadership across CommSec’s customer and digital portfolio. You’ll partner closely with product leaders to define the digital roadmap, deliver high-quality technology solutions at pace and create the next generation of experiences for the investors of tomorrow.

Business Banking Technology delivers the Technology Strategy across Business Banking through modern engineering, resilient platforms, data and AI-driven insights. The team partners with the business to solve real-world problems and deliver seamless, secure and personalised experiences at speed and scale.

Within CommSec Technology, you’ll act as the senior technology partner for the Customer and Digital teams. You’ll combine deep engineering expertise with commercial judgement, clear decision-making and influential communication to:

Define and execute the technology strategy and roadmap for customer and digital experiences.
Partner with product leaders to translate customer needs and business priorities into scalable technology outcomes.
Lead the delivery of secure, resilient and high-quality digital and AI capabilities.
Grow diverse, high-performing engineering teams across multiple locations.
Strengthen modern engineering, cloud, DevSecOps and continuous delivery practices.
Own the performance, availability and total cost of ownership of the portfolio’s technology assets.
Align architecture and delivery decisions with enterprise technology strategy and engineering guardrails.
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, learning and continuous improvement.

We’re interested in hearing from people who

Bring substantial experience leading complex digital engineering portfolios and building technology capabilities that deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes. You’ll be an inclusive and credible leader who can set direction, navigate competing priorities and bring product, engineering and business stakeholders together.

Proven experience shaping and delivering digital, engineering and AI technology strategies.
Strong people leadership capability, with experience developing leaders and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and align teams around a shared product and technology vision.
Deep knowledge of modern software engineering, architecture and microservices.
Experience leading cloud-based technology teams, ideally with exposure to AWS.
Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps, release management and reliable technology operations.
A data-informed approach to prioritisation, investment decisions and continuous improvement.
Experience in investment, securities or digital financial services would be highly regarded.
