Head of Engineering

Reporting to the Senior Director – Global Engineering the Head of Engineering will be responsible for working with Engineering Leaders, Manufacturing Operations Management, Product Managers and other Engineering and Operational functional leaders, to lead several Design & Engineering teams involved in the design, validation and implementation of innovative and cost-effective product solutions of varying scope in order to meet customer requirements from development of conceptual prototypes and architecture through development into full-scale production.

What a typical day looks like:

• Direct and control the activities of broad functional area through several senior Design & Engineering managers involved in activities such as designing, developing, modifying and evaluating integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and systems.
• Partner with other leaders to establish objectives and action plans.
• Ensure the development of Design & Engineering solutions for diversified industry segment covering a wide range of products and volume mixes.
• Ensure budget, schedules and performance indicators meet corporate guidelines.
• Provide technical and strategic guidance to subordinate directors to ensure achievement of goals and objectives.
• Develop and continuously improve people, methods, systems, processes and metrics in a complex and rapidly changing environment to improve customer satisfaction.
• Organize and lead reviews to ensure projects are delivered on time, as per cost targets and within quality specifications.
• Partner with Operations leaders to ensure Engineering & Design activities are well integrated with manufacturing operations including the use of Design for Manufacturability principles.
• Implement appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team,

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training plus a minimum of 8 years of management experience. A Master’s or MBA degree is preferred.
• Proficiency in Autodesk design tools and PDM and PLM.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical designs LV switchgear

The base pay range for this position is provided below. The final base rate offered will be determined using job-related, non-discriminatory criteria, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, geographic location, education, external market data, and internal equity.

$157,000.00 USD - $215,900.00 USD Annual
