Job Title – Mainframe Software Configuration Management - Lead Systems Engineer

The Purpose of This Role

Provide technical and systems support to Mainframe Endevor and Viewdirect/Mobius View systems. Work with senior level business and technology partners to define and implement solutions. The person will be responsible for providing governance, oversight and application of production support for all Business units and their respective customers.

The Value You Deliver

The Mainframe Endevor Support Team provides a variety of services related to Endevor and Viewdirect on z/OS systems at Fidelity. Those services might include but are not necessarily limited to:

Support, configuration and administration of Mainframe Endevor and Viewdirect systems.
Interface with Technology Operations and infrastructure groups to plan and manage changes in the production environment.
Modification and Enforcement of Endevor rules of module movement.
Support the movement of the Mainframe Application modules from development libraries to production libraries through Endevor.
Batch and Online PROD (Release) migrations support.
Under moderate direction, participate in 2-3 small, self-contained, concurrent technical projects working with developers and operation analysts
Analyze complex Endevor problems and implement solutions and/or workarounds
Project coordination and planning
Evaluation and recommendation of software products in Endevor
Participates in the evaluation, selection, and piloting of new technologies
Work with a wide range of teams across various issues, locations, and time zones
Provide cross training to peers in the Endevor and Viewdirect Support group
Work closely with other departments within Fidelity and act as interface between the Endevor group and the other technical teams coordinating their upgrades/projects/deliverables

The Skills that are Key to this role

Technical / Behavioral

Mainframe programming knowledge.
Hands on experience in JCL, COBOL, DB2 and Rexx.
Strong hands-on administration experience in Mainframe Endevor.
Endevor Processor groups configuration and maintenance
Experience in Control M scheduling
Understanding of Software Configuration Management processes across Mainframe and Distributed systems
Ability to navigate across Fidelity technology organizations and at various levels within the organization
A blend of process and technology skills; ability to understand end to end processes and translate requirements to enable standardization and automation
Understanding of ITSM functions including Incident, Change & Problem Management
Ability to plan out work, accurately communicate status and meet agreed upon schedules
Ability to balance details with an understanding of the big picture
Capability of understanding complex processes
Ability to understand and integrate data across multiple tools and functions
Strong communication, both verbal and written; ability to implement education and training across a broad technology population
Forward looking, continuous improvement mindset
Develop processes and standards and maintain KPI and process alignment

How Your Work Impacts the Organization

You would be able to contribute in maintaining stability of our end points by upkeeping the mainframe application source code across all the development and testing environments and the path to production along with production support during mainframe production releases.
