Mainframe Modernization Architect

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer sciences.
• 20+ years of experience as an architect or equivalent in the hosting and network space (preferably with a service provider).
• Over 12 years' experience as a Modernization or Migration Architect, leading legacy system upgrades to new platforms with minimal business disruption.
• Hands-on experience with Mainframe Application migration and legacy modernization projects.
• 15+ years of experience with strong expertise across the mainframe technology stack, including COBOL, Natural, Adabas, Easytrieve, Db2, IMS, JCL, CICS, VSAM, RACF, z/OS, PL/I, and Assembler.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience in managing projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing multi-phase/multi-dimensional/multi-resource projects to conclusion while maintaining high client satisfaction.
• Demonstrated expertise in data migration, with a strong emphasis on understanding and working with legacy data structures to effectively convert and modernize them into modern database platforms.
• Skilled in evaluating mainframe legacy applications and developing comprehensive modernization plans.
• Demonstrated development experience with modern Java and C# frameworks, including designing and implementing scalable enterprise applications.
• Additionally, has extensive experience working with Python, applying the language for scripting, automation, data analysis, and developing scalable backend systems that facilitate enterprise modernization efforts.
• Understanding of (and experience with) public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid solutions preferred .
• Demonstrated ability to understand and leverage Artificial Intelligence, applying AI-driven strategies and tools to modernize legacy systems and enhance data migration efforts.
• Skilled in identifying use cases for AI within legacy modernization practices, driving innovation by integrating intelligent automation, advanced analytics, and machine learning solutions to streamline processes and create future-ready technologically.
• Well versed in the hosting technology landscape including compute, storage, backup, network, security, DR, DevOps and IT governance.
• Good understanding of the sales process for large and complex opportunities.
• Resourceful and confident in Crisis and Expectation management and confident under pressure.
• Has experience in technical documentation to capture solution components in a timely manner while ensuring acceptable level of detail, data integrity, and accountability.
• Ability to share knowledge and expertise among various organizations within the company and to facilitate teamwork among those organizations to better serve our clients.
• Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with common office applications such as MS Outlook, MS Excel, PowerPoint and MS Visio.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral, written and presentation.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this role is $156,000 to $210,000 annually based on a full-time schedule. Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs. In addition to base salary, other compensation programs, depending on eligibility, include an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance and an equity grant under our Associate Equity Appreciation Program.
