What You Will Do
- Refactor legacy applications, address technical debt, and apply modern design principles.
- Analyze business objectives, prepare action plans, and identify areas for improvement.
- Work across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), contributing to system stability, scalability, and continuous improvement.
- Translate backend business and functional requirements into technical designs.
- Report to the Head of Engineering, based in Kuala Lumpur, who comes from a fintech background.
- Be part of a team of 20 engineers in Malaysia, working closely with the lead engineer and Product Manager from Singapore.

What You Will Need
- 3-10+ years of experience with .NET Core.
- Experience with Event Driven architecture, Microservices, and API Integrations.
- Cloud experience with AWS or other platforms such as Azure or GCP.
- Background in fintech, tech companies, product companies, startups, or scale-ups, with a focus on building enterprise-ready solutions or rolling out new features.

- The Malaysian team and product suite are less than 5 years old, but part of a global, long-established player in the fintech and financial services industry operating in 15 countries.
- Regulated under Bank Negara Malaysia, ensuring high regulation and financial security.
- Products are built in-house, with no reliance on vendors, enabling long-term initiatives with in-house technical capability.
- Provides end-to-end solutions across Front, Middle, and Back office functions, serving both retail and institutional customers under their own brand, plus a white-label B2B product.
- Hybrid work arrangement, based in central KL
