About Capco

Capco is a global business and technology consultancy dedicated to the financial services industry. We combine deep industry expertise with consulting and technology capabilities to help leading financial institutions solve complex challenges and deliver meaningful transformation.

Across APAC and globally, we partner with banks and financial institutions on programmes spanning business transformation, digital and technology change, operating model transformation, regulatory change and large-scale programme delivery.

At Capco, you'll work in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment where people are trusted to take ownership, challenge conventional thinking and deliver tangible outcomes for our clients.

Role Overview

We are looking for experienced Project Managers with a strong banking background to lead complex transformation initiatives across our financial services clients.

You will bring a combination of project delivery expertise and banking domain experience, with a track record of successfully delivering transformation within areas such as Retail Banking, Private Banking & Wealth Management, Corporate & Transaction Banking, Payments, Capital Markets or other banking domains.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you will take ownership of projects from initiation through implementation, working closely with senior business and technology stakeholders, delivery teams and external partners.

You should be comfortable operating in complex banking environments, bringing structure to ambiguity, challenging where appropriate, and driving teams towards successful delivery.

What You'll Do

Lead Banking Transformation Projects

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of business and technology transformation initiatives within banking environments, from initiation and planning through implementation and closure.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, dependencies and success measures.
  • Develop and manage integrated project plans covering timelines, resources, budgets, dependencies and quality.
  • Drive execution across multiple workstreams and ensure delivery remains aligned with agreed business outcomes.
  • Translate strategic objectives into structured and executable transformation plans.

Own Project Governance & Delivery

  • Establish effective project governance and maintain clear decision-making and escalation pathways.
  • Proactively managerisks, issues, assumptions and dependencies (RAID) and drive issues through to resolution.
  • Manage scope, change control, budgets, resources and delivery performance.
  • Prepare clear and concise reporting for Project Sponsors, Steering Committees and senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure appropriate project controls, documentation and delivery standards are maintained throughout the lifecycle.

Partner with Banking & Technology Stakeholders

  • Work closely with stakeholders across business, product, operations, technology, risk, compliance and other functions.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and act as a credible delivery partner.
  • Understand the business context behind transformation initiatives and ensure project delivery remains aligned to business objectives.
  • Navigate competing priorities and facilitate decisions across complex stakeholder groups.
  • Coordinate effectively with vendors, system integrators and other external delivery partners where required.

Lead Teams & Drive Execution

  • Lead cross-functional and geographically distributed teams across business and technology.
  • Establish clear accountability, delivery cadence and ways of working across project teams.
  • Identify delivery challenges early and take appropriate action to maintain momentum.
  • Create an environment of collaboration, ownership and delivery excellence.

Support Change & Implementation

  • Assess the business and operational impacts of transformation initiatives.
  • Coordinate implementation and business readiness across impacted functions.
  • Support transition from current-state processes and systems into the target environment.
  • Track agreed outcomes and benefits following implementation.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience within banking or financial services, with direct accountability for end-to-end project delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or delivering banking transformation projects, rather than purely BAU or operational initiatives.
  • Strong domain experience in at least one area of banking, such as:
  • Retail Banking
  • Private Banking / Wealth Management
  • Corporate / Commercial Banking
  • Transaction Banking / Cash Management
  • Payments
  • Capital Markets / Markets

  • Other relevant banking products or functions
  • Experience delivering transformation involving business, operations and technology stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, planning, RAID management, financial management and change control.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, Project Sponsors and Steering Committees.
  • Ability to operate effectively in complex, ambiguous and highly regulated banking environments.
  • Strong communication, facilitation and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working withAgile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies.

Advantageous Experience

  • Previous experience within management consulting, technology consulting or professional services.
  • Experience delivering large-scale or regional banking transformation programmes.
  • Exposure to digital transformation, platform modernisation, operating model change, regulatory transformation or technology implementation.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors or system integrators.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent project/programme management certification.
