The Senior R&D Engineer engages in New Product Development (NPD) of advanced filtration projects and Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) using application knowledge from semiconductor photolithographic processes. Provides support within the group and cross-functionally as needed to drive innovation and transfer to manufacturing. In this role, you will develop state-of-the-art filtration, purification and separation products and processes for advanced semiconductor markets in photolithography and wet etch and clean chemicals.

This position reports to the R&D Manager and is part of the Global R&D Organization in Tsukuba, Japan and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Apply technical background (photolithography) for development of new filter technologies that enable New Product Development
Lead R&D programs focused on cleaning and conditioning filters used in semiconductor photolithography processes.
Apply Design of Experiments to understand cleaning mechanisms, process interactions, and critical operating parameters.
Works closely with manufacturing to assure the development of new products can be effectively scaled up and manufactured with high reliability
Communicate with leadership, team members, and other key cross-functional partners, work with global teams, labs, and engineering resources in other time zones, collaborate to enable breakthrough innovation

The essential requirements of the job include:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related technical discipline.
Eight or more years of relevant semiconductor lithography experience; an advanced degree may substitute for a portion of the experience requirement

Experience with semiconductor lithography materials, including photoresists, developers, solvents, or formulated patterning materials is preferred
Working knowledge of advanced-node semiconductor contamination requirements and defectivity mechanisms.

Proficient English oral/written communication skills

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Experience with Semiconductor-grade filtration products, installation, and qualification
Knowledge of semiconductor analytical methods for particles, metals, ions, and organic contamination
Familiarity with ultraclean manufacturing environments and high-purity chemical systems
