Software Engineer

Job Description Summary

Broadridge is seeking a Software Engineer to drive the development, implementation, and enhancement of customized proprietary software solutions. This role combines hands-on software development with team coordination, technical leadership, and continuous improvement to ensure high-quality software delivery and alignment with business needs.

Responsibilities

Lead and support a team of software developers, maintaining team productivity, work quality, and overall output.
Organize project-specific processes, including project launches, demonstrations, and post-project reviews.
Coordinate team communications, including project status updates, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing.
Communicate project and department updates, priorities, and relevant information to the team.
Report team progress, status, and potential issues to the Project Manager.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve team performance, development processes, and delivery quality.
Identify barriers to team performance, resolve issues when possible, and escalate as needed.
Balance workload across the team based on priorities, capacity, and project requirements.
Work collaboratively as part of a software development team to maintain and enhance existing computer programs.
Make required software modifications, identify and communicate issues, and recommend solutions.
Prepare reports, manuals, and other documentation related to software status, operation, and maintenance.
Maintain team visibility, including keeping the team’s web page current.
Apply expert knowledge of current technologies to develop innovative, effective software designs that meet business needs.
Play a hands-on role in the successful implementation and enhancement of high-quality system components.
Ensure the integrity and quality of component designs throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $130,000–$145,000 USD annually
