Essential Skills
Core Development
- Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET Framework 4.7.2
- Experience designing, developing and maintaining RESTful APIs
- Strong understanding of JSON-based API design and integration
- Excellent knowledge of object-oriented design and development principles
- Experience working with multi-layered enterprise applications
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Database Development
- Strong experience working with Microsoft SQL Server
- Ability to design, develop and optimize:
- SQL queries
- Stored procedures
- Views
- Database indexes
- Understanding of database performance tuning and query optimization
- Experience working with large or business-critical data sets
Data Access & Application Architecture

- Experience working with custom or proprietary data access layers
- Understanding of data access patterns and application layering
- Experience integrating with internal and third-party systems and services
- Ability to design maintainable and scalable back-end solutions
API & Security
- Strong understanding of:
- HTTP and HTTPS
- REST principles
- API versioning
- Authentication and authorization concepts
- Error handling and logging
- Understanding of secure coding practices and application security principles
Engineering Practices
- Experience using source control systems such as Git and Azure DevOps
- Ability to write clean, maintainable and testable code
- Experience conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback
- Experience investigating and resolving production issues
- Ability to contribute to technical design discussions and solution reviews
AI-Assisted Development
- Experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor or equivalent
- Ability to utilize AI tools to improve development productivity and accelerate delivery
- Experience reviewing, validating and testing AI-generated code
- Understanding of responsible and secure use of AI-assisted development practices
