As Senior Technical Service Technologist, East Africa, youwillprovideanoutstandingtechnicalcustomerexperienceand drive innovationthroughingredientapplication, formulation, food process expertise, andthedevelopmentofcustomer-centricsolutions. This role reportstotheDirector, Technical Service andSolutionsDevelopment Lead EMEA andwillinitiallyoverseeone direct report, withresponsibility for leading a small local Technical Service team.

What you will do

Act as the lead technicalcontact for assignedcustomersandkeyaccounts, buildingtrustedrelationshipsandproviding expertise acrossinnovation, troubleshooting, costoptimization, and new business development.

Lead andfurtherdevelopthe Nairobi Idea Lab, expanding local formulationandpilotplantcapabilitieswhileensuringproductquality, food safety, hygiene, regulatory compliance, andeffectiveoperations.

Lead, coach, anddevelopthe local Technical Service team, setting priorities, buildingcapability, andaligningresourceswith business objectives.

Planand execute complexapplicationtrialsinvolvingformulation, processdevelopment, andoptimization, with a primaryfocusondairyandsavoryapplicationswhilesupportingothercategories as required.

Evaluatecustomerformulations, ingredients, equipment, andmanufacturing processes to diagnose technicalchallengesandrecommendpractical, science-basedsolutions.

Collaboratewithcommercialteams, distributors, suppliers, andequipmentpartnerstoidentifygrowthopportunities, advanceprojects, andcreatevalueacross East Africa, boththrough joint customervisitsandindependenttechnicalengagement.

Documenttechnicalactivitiesandprojectoutcomes, communicateresultsclearlytointernalandexternal stakeholders, share expertise, andcontributetocontinuousimprovementacrossproducts, processes, andapplicationtechniques.

What you will bring

A degreeorequivalentqualification in Food Technology, Food Engineering, Food Science, or a related discipline.

SeveralyearsofexperienceoperatingatSeniorTechnologistlevel in Technical Service, productdevelopment, or food applicationswithinthe food industryorspecialty food ingredients sector.

Strong technicalknowledgeofdairyorsavoryapplications, includingingredientfunctionality, formulation systems, food processing, andrelevantequipment.

A proven track recordofdeliveringsuccessfulinnovationprojectsandprovidingtechnicalsupportdirectlyto food-industrycustomers, ideallywithin a multinationalorinternational business environment.

Experience leadingpeople, laboratoryactivities, ortechnicalworkstreams, togetherwiththewillingnesstotravelregularlytocustomersandpartnersacross East Africa, includingtraveloutside Kenya.
