When a highly automated operation experiences a critical issue, every second counts. As a Technical Specialist at Dematic, you'll play a pivotal role in keeping a complex, fast-paced logistics operation running at peak performance. Working as part of a rotating day and night shift team, you'll act as the technical authority on shift, diagnosing complex faults, leading root-cause investigations and helping to prevent issues from recurring.

This is more than a maintenance role. You’ll combine hands-on technical expertise with leadership and coaching, helping to develop the capabilities of the wider engineering team while supporting one of the most advanced automated material handling environments in the industry.

If you're the person colleagues turn to when the difficult problems arise, and you enjoy sharing your knowledge as much as solving technical challenges, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Acting as the primary technical escalation point for automation, controls and system performance issues.
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex PLC, electrical, mechanical, electronic and network-related faults.
  • Leading root-cause investigations and implementing permanent corrective and preventative actions.
  • Using SCADA, WCS, WMS and operational data to identify trends, recurring failures and reliability improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinating technical fault management between the customer, Dematic and specialist third-party support providers.

  • Supporting planned maintenance activities and ensuring technical standards are maintained across the site.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives that improve reliability, availability, performance and throughput.
  • Supporting site performance by prioritising faults based on operational impact and business needs.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to shift technicians.
  • Help develop technical training plans and skills-development programmes.
  • Create and improve troubleshooting guides, technical documentation and best-practice processes.
  • Support the ongoing development of the site's technical training matrix.
