Are you a proactive problem solver with a passion for driving technical innovation? If so, we have good news as we are looking for an experienced DMPK/ADME Technical Expert to join our Analytical Metabolism and Methods (AMM) group within Product Safety. Within this role, you will make a key impact in projects by delivering innovative study designs to aid our understanding of the Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion (ADME) and Pharmacokinetics (PK) and/or Toxicokinetics (TK) of chemicals in mammalian toxicology species. You will work within a highly collaborative team of study managers and technical experts, while applying your scientific expertise to interpret complex DMPK/ADME data for project teams, directly supporting the development and registration of sustainable crop protection products. A recent example is the registration of TYMIRIUM® technology which protects crops against soil-borne pests. Additionally you will build effective partnerships with Contract Research Organisations (CROs), directing external study execution and collaborating to resolve technical challenges to secure the timely delivery of externally placed studies. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering technical insights: Elucidating insights from ADME and PK/TK data and reporting expert conclusions to metabolism teams.
  • Applying regulatory expertise: Utilising your expert knowledge and understanding of ADME, PK/TK as well as relevant global regulatory guidance documents and their implication to optimise and de-risk our study designs. Keeping abreast of changes to regulatory guidelines and requirements.
  • Partnering with CROs: Independently providing technical guidance and problem-solving support to external suppliers, where appropriate, to facilitate transfer of technical knowledge.

  • Significant knowledge in the areas of DMPK/ADME, with expertise in pharmacokinetics and/or toxicokinetics.
  • Familiarity of global Regulatory Test Guidelines (e.g. OECD 417) relevant to ADME and toxicokinetics studies conducted to GLP standards for the registration of crop protection chemicals.
  • Experience in translating complex datasets into key safety or regulatory insights to inform decision making.
  • Practical knowledge of quantitative PK/TK principles, including non-compartmental analysis (NCA), calculation of key PK/TK parameters.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within diverse scientific teams (e.g., toxicologists, modellers, metabolism specialists) and with external stakeholders (industry, contract research or regulatory agencies) to achieve project goals.
  • Capability to organise, prioritise, and track complex scientific deliverables across multiple projects, applying strong attention to detail and analytical thinking to solve problems in scientific experiments to maintain quality and delivery to agreed timelines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports and presentations to articulate complex technical matters clearly.
  • Willingness to learn and ability to apply new skills promptly.
  • In-depth understanding of in vitro and in vivo xenobiotic mammalian metabolism, including metabolite identification, metabolic pathway elucidation, and cross-species comparison would be desirable.
