As a Java Software Engineer you will be responsible for writing code, design, and development of scalable and secure software for enhancing service capabilities and expanding product portfolio. You will be part of cross-team engineering initiatives and a culture of high engagement, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.

Here is a breakdown

You will be engaged in shaping product features in close collaboration with multiple teams and stakeholders, including, but not limited to Engineering, Product, User Experience and Support teams.

You you will be expected to produce software design solutions and corresponding code with the highest quality and on time.

You will be expected to be an active contributor to design and code reviews.

You will actively contribute to full automation test coverage.

You embrace the Kaizen culture.

You will be engaged in support and troubleshooting activities.

Use AI‑assisted tools across the software development lifecycle (design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation) to enhance efficiency and quality.

Apply strong engineering judgment to evaluate and validate AI‑generated suggestions through reviews, testing, and design validation.

Contribute to evolving team practices around AI usage to improve developer productivity while respecting security, privacy, and compliance requirements.

What will you bring to Omnissa?

Work with the engineering teams and product stakeholders to review and refine delivery requirements.

Write technical design documents and hold reviews.

Design software and write code primarily using Java, Spring Boot, AWS managed services and cloud best practices.

Build data and orchestration platform that span multiple services/products.

Perform task breakdown and plan execution.

Implement and improve processes around DevOps, Agile, and CI/CD.

Participate in all team agile ceremonies.

You will follow engineering standards and best practices.

We work as one team across the globe, and as such, everyone owns every aspect of the product, from developing new capabilities to supporting customer issues.

What is the leadership like for this role?

This position reports to the Engineering Manager of Workspace ONE Freestyle team based in Sofia, Bulgaria, an established software engineer and manager with 15 years of experience spanning multiple domains. Additionally, the Technical Leadership consist of a team of highly skilled Senior and Staff engineers with deep technical expertise in various tech stacks and domains. The broader team working on the platform is cross cultural and is spread in few locations - USA and Bulgaria. Each of the co-located teams fully owns specific parts of the product and the respective microservices.
